While federations have virtues, Australian citizens who live, learn and work close to our state and territory borders can find themselves battling the inconsistencies (even absurdities) of many regulatory schemes. Not only do these issues pre-date our current crisis, numerous problems have been there since well before Federation. Fortunately, practising regulators from many different sectors and agencies have dreamed up innovative, practical solutions to make life easier for people, businesses and communities.
