Policy specialist with expertise in public sector strategy and reform
Matthew is the acting Assistant Secretary, Audit and Assurance Branch within the Commonwealth Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. In this role, Matthew is responsible for delivering a portfolio wide program of regulatory audit and internal assurance activities nationally. These regulatory functions underpin international trade and management of goods entering Australia including the associated risks those goods pose.
Matthew has over 15 years’ experience across policy and operations within regulatory and emergency management functions spanning across all three levels of government. Matthew is committed to providing effective leadership, building and maintaining key stakeholder engagement, and driving best practice regulation.
