Policy specialist with expertise in public sector strategy and reform
Liz Costello is a Principal Policy Officer in the Liquor, Gaming and Fair-Trading division of Queensland’s Department of Justice and Attorney-General. Liz is responsible for leading a number of gambling harm minimisation projects under the Gambling Harm Minimisation Plan for Queensland 2021-25, and over the last four years has managed the development of a range of key gambling harm initiatives. After completing a degree in journalism, Liz worked in communications and media roles within Liquor, Gaming and Fair Trading. This background has been valuable in her work developing gambling harm awareness public health campaigns, which aim to break down the stigma around experiencing gambling harm and seeking help.
