Experienced public sector leader and advisor
Iain comes from a strong safety regulatory background and is the Director of Industrial and Regional Industries Directorate with WorkSafe in Western Australia. He also has significant regulatory and compliance experience in explosives and dangerous goods management, having more than 25 years’ experience in the business. As a regulator his focus is on safety management and holding people accountable for their commitments to that safety. He manages three teams that believe in educating and informing; a carrot rather than stick approach. He is not afraid of change or implementing change and struggles with the concept that we only do things in a particular way simply because that’s the way we have always done it. Iain holds a number of Work Health and Safety certificate and graduate qualifications and has a MSc in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management from Leicester University (UK).
