Joshua Puls MVO

    Senior executive with deep experience in leadership and government systems

    Joshua Puls is the Deputy Secretary, Justice and Public Administration in Victoria’s Department of Premier and Cabinet.

    Josh’s previous role in the Victorian Government was Official Secretary to the Governor of Victoria between 2016 and 2022. Before that he was Executive Director of DPC’s Cabinet Office, after having overseen the Anzac Centenary as Director of the Veterans Branch.

    Between 2011 and 2013 Josh was the Assistant Private Secretary (Commonwealth) to TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall (now TM The King and Queen Camilla) in London.

    Before joining the Victorian Public Service, Josh was Special Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor of the Australian Catholic University. Since 2015 Josh has served as a Victorian representative on the Council for the Order of Australia.

    Josh Puls holds qualifications in law, arts, education and theology as well as the degree of Executive Master of Public Administration from ANZSOG. He has a Certificate IV in TESOL and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is currently undertaking a Diploma in Australian Sign Language (Auslan).
