Governance expert with a focus on integrity, accountability and systems
Debby established the role of Inspector General Regulatory Systems for MPI in October 2019 and has held the role since then. She reports to the Director-General on the efficiency and effectiveness of the primary sector regulatory systems within the Ministry for Primary Industries remit.
Leading up to this role Debby had spent 8 years in three agencies as Director Audit & Risk in the New Zealand public sector. Debby’s career has also included founding and managing her own corporate governance consultancy for 6 years, and before that she gained a wealth of commercial experience within the New Zealand energy and financial sectors.
She is a passionate global traveller and has represented New Zealand in her favoured sport of pétanque.
