Peter Harvey

    Senior executive with deep experience in leadership and government systems

    Peter Harvey is currently the Director Commissioned Programs at the NSW Department of Education. Peter is accountable for delivering programs that support increased access to quality early childhood education for our youngest learners.

    Prior to this role, Peter directed the Maritime and Transport Safety Strategy & Policy team at Transport for NSW in pursuit of reducing deaths and serious injuries to zero.

    Peter is passionate about making a positive impact and enjoys working in the public sector where public value can be delivered at scale. Peter’s professional experience is complemented by a Master of Politics and Public Policy from Macquarie University, Graduate Certificate in Public Sector Management from Flinders University and Bachelor of International Studies from the University of Sydney.

    In his spare time, Peter enjoys kayaking with his family on the Hawkesbury River, a scenic estuary on the northern outskirts of metropolitan Sydney.
