Alex Nitschke

    For nearly 20 years, Alex has led strategic and digital transformations. Completing his Master of Commerce in 2007, Alex pivoted from commercial banking into change and technology management support for Australia’s largest financial merger of the time.

    Joining the Public Service in 2008, Alex managed several innovative projects to better use administrative data within government. From 2015 Alex held executive, programme and change leadership roles for the ABS’ infrastructure modernisation programme and the digital Census, before initiating the departments first Project Management Office.

    In recent years, Alex has broadened his expertise by providing management consultancy services for a range of business, council and government transformations. This gives Alex a unique perspective of what drives successful change across industry and strategies that work in the public sector.

    For the past 10 years Alex has shared his passion for teaching, by designing and delivering a range of MBA and post-graduate programs in leadership and digital transformation at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). Alex has won awards as an online facilitator, for his student-centric approach and ability to make sense of complex topics.
