Three ANZSOG alumni have been recognised in this year’s Australia Day Honours for the quality of their work in the public sector, as well as the contributions they have made to the community over the course of their careers.
In addition, ANZSOG Board Chair WA Public Sector Commissioner Sharyn O’Neill PSM and Emeritus Professor John Wanna, our former Sir John Bunting Chair in Public Administration at ANU from 2004-2019, were made Officers of the Order of Australia (AO).
ANZSOG Dean and CEO Caron Beaton-Wells congratulated all those who received awards, saying that the Australia Day Honours recognised the often-overlooked work of public servants in developing and implementing policies that raised the quality of life of all Australians.
“Congratulations to Sharyn on this well-deserved recognition of a career of service and excellence, particularly in the field of teaching and education, and thank you for your leadership and guidance as Board Chair as we go through a period of significant change and growth at ANZSOG,” she said.
“All public servants recognised have made major contributions to their communities throughout their careers, and we at ANZSOG are proud to have helped them reach their potential as leaders through their participation in our programs.”
