Dr Bernadette Hyland-Wood is a recognised leader in data governance, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation, with experience spanning government, industry, academia, and international standards development. A former technology entrepreneur and executive, she has advised senior leaders and boards on responsible data and AI governance. Bernadette is a boundary spanner between policy, technology, and governance, and helps organisations navigate the opportunities, risks, and ethical challenges of data-driven decision-making. Her work focuses on the responsible use of AI, public trust, and Indigenous Data Governance.
Dr Hyland-Wood is an Industry Fellow at Queensland University of Technology and brings a practical perspective to leadership and ethical decision-making, drawing on experience across public policy, research, technology commercialisation, and organisational governance.
