Having worked as a nurse, senior hospital administrator, and health policy leader before entering Parliament, the Minister developed a strong understanding for financial leadership – her career achievements have been recognised through several distinguished awards, including the Telstra Queensland Businesswoman of the Year and the Prime Minister’s Centenary of Federation Medal for Services to the Australian Community in Health.
The Minister was also bestowed the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards Quality Award.
From balancing budgets to driving investment in skills and training, the Minister’s approach is centred on securing long-term opportunities for Queenslanders.
Growing up in a small country town instilled a strong appreciation for the power of local communities to support one another. That ethos underpins her work in supporting local businesses, empowering Queensland’s workforce, and preparing the state for the challenges of tomorrow.
