Dr Damir Mitric has been appointed as Executive Director of ANZSOG’s Learning Solutions & Experience group, leading the design, development and delivery of ANZSOG’s new education product portfolio.

ANZSOG Dean and CEO Caron Beaton-Wells welcomed Dr Mitric, highlighting his wealth of experience in higher education, spanning both academic and professional.

“Damir will bring deep expertise spanning learning transformation, digital and blended program design, and evidence-informed pedagogy across universities and industry,” she said.

“He has a proven track record of lifting learning quality at scale, building and leading high-performing teams to deliver, and establishing core learning infrastructure.”

For Dr Mitric, ANZSOG’s work in supporting the public sector to create governance that people trust is a “rare and powerful combination of public purpose, academic rigour and real-world impact”.

“I’m excited by the opportunity to shape learning that genuinely helps public servants lead through complexity and deliver better outcomes for communities across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand,” he said

“It is also an opportunity for me to do something I am passionate about – expand access to quality education for a sector that makes a huge contribution to the stability and prosperity of our communities, but which is facing significant challenges globally.”

He noted that periods of uncertainty and change created a real demand for trusted capability-building.

“ANZSOG has strong links to public services. We have a significant opportunity to support public leaders to navigate change, complexity and ambiguity. Not just technical skills and leadership, but judgment, systems thinking and transformation,” he said.

He said that his focus for ANZSOG was to improve quality, coherence and scale of ANZSOG’s education programs.

“In 2026, we will strengthen ANZSOG’s learning engine, sharpen our portfolio, elevate the learner experience, and ensure our offerings are more tightly aligned to the challenges public sector leaders are facing right now – and in future,” he said.

“That includes modular design, blended delivery, and learning experiences that respect time constraints while still creating space for reflection, peer learning and experimentation that is informed by evidence and continuously improved using data and feedback from participants.”

Dr Mitric joins ANZSOG from Melbourne Business School, where he was most recently Director, Client and Learner Solutions and previously Director, Learning Transformations and Manager, Learning Design. He has also held roles at RMIT University and La Trobe University. He holds a PhD (Law/History) and is a Senior Fellow of the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA).
