Overview

The Queensland Chapter of the NRCoP invites you to join a breakfast event to discuss the new Queensland Government Better Regulation Policy and the role of digital technology in supporting regulatory outcomes.

The Better Regulation Policy commenced in September 2023 and retains a best practice regulation framework while promoting greater accountability and transparency. Under the Policy, the Office of Best Practice Regulation has also shifted to an enhanced ‘technical advisor’ role to support agencies in undertaking regulatory impact analysis and best practice policy development. Just as better decision-making processes can improve regulation, digital technology can improve how regulation is administered. A key area for discussion will explore how regulators can optimise their use of regulatory technology.

Please join us for a light breakfast followed by a presentation on this work and what it means for regulators and decision makers. This session will be of interest to anyone involved in the development and administration of regulation from, primary and subordinate legislation, through to other instruments such as guidelines and standards.
