Overview
In 2023, SA Police received reports alleging massage parlours operating in the Hindley St Entertainment Precinct were exploiting migrant workers through underpayment, substandard living conditions and denial of personal liberties.
Keen to explore innovative regulatory approaches, local, state and federal government regulators banded together as a Task Force with the aim of targeting the owners of the parlours, disrupting the sector and protecting workers from further exploitation.
Come and hear from 6 regulators who formed a Task Force discuss the challenges and opportunities of co-regulation in a multi-jurisdictional environment.
In an interactive forum, this event will share how the Task Force planned and executed a range of compliance activities, what worked well, what didn’t and what’s happened since.
If you are interested in learning more about parallel regulation and co-enforcement, this free event is for you.
We look forward to seeing you in-person in Adelaide.
