Overview

This joint event between ANZSOG and Future Leadership brings together senior public sector leaders and HR professionals for a strategic conversation on how leadership and workforce strategies can better meet future challenges. This online event will explore the intersection of governance, psychology, and executive leadership in shaping workforce transformation. 

Building on ANZSOG’s recent exploration of macro-trends in the future of work, this session will connect insights from enterprise leadership, sector comparisons, and practitioner experience to inform the next chapter of public leadership.

Moderator: Professor Caron Beaton-Wells, ANZSOG

  • Caron Beaton-Wells is the Dean and CEO of ANZSOG, with a distinguished career spanning academia, law, and public sector leadership. She is known for her thought leadership on governance, institutional trust, and leadership development. Caron will moderate the session, drawing connections across speaker insights and ANZSOG’s mission of building a capable and trusted public service.

Dr Marcele De Sanctis, Future Leadership

  • Dr Marcele De Sanctis is a leading expert in executive development and organisational psychology. With over two decades of experience advising senior leaders across government and enterprise, she has pioneered frameworks that support leadership beyond formal authority—emphasising system-wide impact, lateral influence, and complexity-readiness. Her work is grounded in both academic research and practical application, making her a key voice in shaping future-ready leadership.

Dr Marianne Broadbent, Future Leadership

  • Dr Marianne Broadbent brings a unique blend of academic rigour and executive experience across both public and private sectors. She has held senior leadership roles in government, higher education, and global consulting, and is widely recognised for her insights into governance, strategic capability, and leadership development. Her commentary on Public Sector Leadership reflects a deep understanding of the structural and behavioural dynamics that shape leadership effectiveness in complex environments.

Chris Lamb, Chief People Officer, APRA, and former Deputy Public Service Commissioner, NSW Government

  • Chris Lamb is a senior public sector executive with extensive experience in leading whole-of-government workforce strategies and driving inclusive leadership initiatives. He has held key roles in government agencies where he championed diversity, capability development, and organisational transformation. Chris brings a practitioner’s lens to leadership—grounded in lived experience and informed by the challenges and opportunities of navigating complex systems and stakeholder environments.
