Overview
Complex regulatory problems stubbornly refuse to fit neatly within agency boundaries. This becomes highly visible when disasters occur, but it’s the time between disasters when the work needs to be done on identifying gaps and overlaps, sharing information, building collaboration and coordination, sorting out accountability, compliance and enforcement, and smoothing pathways for citizens, stakeholders and regulated entities. Or can we solve many of these problems at the machinery of government (MoG) level by bringing together overlapping regulatory functions into a single organisation with a common purpose and way of operating? Please come along and engage with our panel of expert and experienced regulators while we consider what’s worked, what hasn’t and what we can learn about more effective multi regulatory spaces.
