Annan Boag is General Manager, Regulatory Action at the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), where he leads the OAIC’s privacy and FOI enforcement and investigation functions. In 2023 and 2024, he led a strategic review and major organisational change process at the OAIC, to reshape the agency to respond to a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.

Annan was a member of ANZSOG’s 2021 EMPA cohort, receiving the Dean’s Prize for highest academic performance across the core EMPA subjects, researching AI ethics and governance as part of his EMPA final project. He also holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Information Technology degree from the Australian National University, completing his honours thesis on the use of alternative dispute resolution in government-citizen disputes.
