Tracy is Deputy Director General, Corporate at the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), responsible for leading the department’s corporate services, including governance (encompassing cabinet and legislation, legal, media and communications, Right to Information, and risk), finance and procurement, ICT, human resources, and internal audit.

Tracy has over 25 years’ experience in the Queensland public sector in the fields of law, policy, governance, major projects and program design and delivery, and stakeholder engagement. Tracy has led major reform and commissions of inquiry for government and worked in several Queensland Government departments including the Department of the Premier and Cabinet.

Tracy has won ministerial excellence awards for a flood recovery funding program, a sport funding program and a physical activity social marketing campaign. Tracy was also nominated for a Premier’s Excellence Award for Welcome Aboard: A Guide for members of Queensland Government Boards, Committees and Statutory Authorities. Prior to joining the public service Tracy was a solicitor in private practice.

Tracy holds a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Master of Laws degree from the Queensland University of Technology and has practised as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. Tracy also holds an Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) from Griffith University and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Tracy plays an active role in TMR’s mentoring program with a particular focus on women in leadership along with being a keen advocate for diversity and inclusivity within TMR. As TMR’s Executive Leadership Team Champion for Values and Culture, Tracy continues to elevate and showcase TMR’s strong commitment to values and a workplace culture that is built on respect, dignity and fairness.
