Overview

What are the implications for the future of work when our public institutions are built for stability but operate in systems of accelerating change?

This thought leadership event invites public sector leaders – and those working across HR, workforce strategy and development – to explore the macro-trends shaping the future of work and their impact on government capability. Using the World Economic Forum’s 2025 Future of Jobs Report as a springboard, we’ll examine the shifts in skills, roles, and workforce design that demand bold, forward-thinking responses.

Key Themes

  • Global and Local Drivers: AI, automation, green transition, demographic change, economic and geopolitical shifts.
  • Shifting Skills Landscape: Net loss/gain dynamics, evolving roles, and a projected 39% shift in core skills.
  • Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP): Building awareness of SWP as a practice, the required mindset shifts, and practical advice tailored to the public sector.
