Sally is a lawyer turned data scientist who is passionate about building public sector capability to respond to emerging challenges. At the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, having pioneered new methods of bringing data science to casework, she leads implementation of the agency’s data strategy to support evidence-based enforcement. Sally previously worked in various technology and intelligence-based roles at the NSW Crime Commission, following a stint in private legal practice. She has a keen interest in research focussed at understanding the social and economic impacts of algorithmic decision-making.
