Directory update requestRachel received a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Journalism and Bachelor of Laws at the University of Tasmania, and was admitted as a legal practitioner before enjoying a rewarding experience working overseas. Rachel has built a successful 17-year career in the Queensland public service in various environmental regulatory roles, including prosecutions, compliance operations, intelligence, training, and policy. Her recent work on two government inquiries provided valuable insights into improving government operations. Previously, as Director of Water Measurement, Strategic Compliance & Investigations, Rachel lead compliance strategies, complex investigations, and spatial and data services for managing Queensland’s water resources at the Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers. She is also Co-Chair of the QLD chapter committee for the National Community of Practice and is passionate about regulatory practice and the vital role of public servants in serving the community.
