Rachel studied Arts/Law at the University of Tasmania and enjoyed a rewarding experience working overseas, before commencing with Queensland Government in 2007. Rachel has built a successful career within the public service, and has spent 14 years working across a number of environmental regulation roles; such as prosecutions, compliance support, intelligence, training, regional delivery and policy. She has recently worked on two independent government inquiries, learning enormously from being able to see government from another side and support the identification of improvements. She is currently a Director with the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water, delivering sustainable management and regulation of water to South East Queensland. Rachel is a member of the QLD chapter of the National Regulators Community of Practice. She is passionate about regulation and regulatory practice and values the important role of public servants in providing public value and confidence to the community.
