Martyn is currently a regulatory compliance consultant, working primarily in work health & safety compliance in the extractive minerals industry across Australia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

Prior to his role, Martyn was the Chief Executive of SafeWork SA and WHS Regulator for South Australia.

During his 6 years as the WHS Regulator, he was also a Board Member for Safe Work Australia, Chair of the Heads of Workplace Safety Authorities for Australia and New Zealand which is the collective community of all Heads of WHS Regulators, a core member of the federal government Sex Discrimination Commissioner’s Respect@Work Council and Secretary-General of the International Association of Labour Inspection, the global professional body and labour and safety regulators with over 100 member countries.

Martyn was instrumental in establishing the ANZSOG South Australian NRCoP Chapter.

He now sits as a Board Member for the South Australian Education Standards Board, Regulator of early childhood education in SA, continues to be one of three global Technical Advisors to the International Association of Labour Inspection and is the inaugural Chair of the Australian National Psychosocial Safety Network.

He has over 30 years’ experience working in investigation, regulatory compliance and work health and safety at senior and executive level roles in the UK and Australia.
