Directory update requestMarianne is the Director, Policy, Governance and Regulation, Waste and Recycling, Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning. Prior to this, she was the Director, Regulation Reform and Practice in the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services. In this role, she leads a number of teams which design and deliver major and system-wide reforms of regulatory frameworks; promote consistent regulatory practice improvement across the department’s regulators; and manage the policy and legislative program for regulatory schemes across the health and human services portfolio.
Marianne has worked in government for more than 20 years, at the state, commonwealth and international levels. Her work has spanned policy, strategy, management and operational regulation in a fascinating mix of domains as varied as law enforcement, alcohol and other drugs, guns, gambling, transport, emergency management, child safety and medicinal cannabis.
She has a particular interest and expertise in driving change in regulatory settings.
