Overview

Delve deeper into ANZSOG’s Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) with this one-hour Showcase Experience where you will learn content drawn directly from the program’s first subject – Delivering Public Value.

In this session you will be introduced to the concept of public value and how to apply this strategic management tool to the contemporary challenges that public sector managers and leaders face today.

Public Value is the central animating idea that underpins the ANZSOG EMPA. It is a thematic concept that is developed throughout the program. Participants build a deep and nuanced understanding of how their leadership and management plays a central role in building value and maximising the benefits of public investment in public services.

This session explains the essential elements of the public value framework along with why it remains both an appealing and relevant concept in guiding the work of public sector agencies in the delivery of better outcomes and creating value for the communities and business they serve.

Delivered by EMPA Academic Director Prof. Christopher Walker, this online session will involve group discussion and interactive activities that mirror what students experience within the EMPA.
