Directory update requestMitzi Bolton is a Research Fellow at MSDI and also within the Better Governance and Policy Initiative of the Monash Faculty of Arts. Her research employs systems thinking to identify and test ways to support public servants to improve public outcomes. This research interacts with an array of policy and regulatory stakeholders, and sits across disciplines, with a particular focus on advanced data science and digital tools.
Mitzi has 12 years’ experience in the public sector, at both the Victorian and national level, and across technical and administrative functions. A skilled public servant, she has held an array of leadership and policy development roles within the Victorian Environment Protection Authority, the Department of Premier & Cabinet (Vic) and the Productivity Commission.
Mitzi holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours from The University of Melbourne, and a Master of Commercial Laws from Monash University. She completed her PhD thesis, on the factors influencing public sector decisions and the achievement of sustainable development, at the Australian National University’s Crawford School of Public Policy.
