Sharon has comprehensive operational and strategic experience working in human services in the government sector over a 25-year period in NZ, ACT and VIC. Organisational reform included delivering a national NZ government Māori Strategy Development program for 2 years, that resulted in significant funding for Māori community service providers over a 4-year period.

From 2012-2015, Sharon gained 3 years NGO sector experience in Thailand. Upon returning to Melbourne and a short-term project at the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA), she commenced at ANZSOG in 2018.

Sharon is Senior Advisor, First Peoples Program and Strategy and has been responsible for developing and delivering the 2018 and 2019 ANZSOG Indigenous senior public sector manager forums, and the 2019 Reimagining First Peoples Public Administration and Governance conference.

Sharon led the delivery of the 2021 Proud Partnerships in Place: ANZSOG First Peoples public administration virtual conference attended by 500 delegates.

Her responsibilities also include assisting with the development of the ANZSOG First Peoples Strategy, the Faculty Induction Program, First Peoples cultural competency program for staff, Learning and Action Protocol, specific Māori cultural knowledge for ANZSOG programs delivered in NZ and providing on-going First Peoples advice across ANZSOG. This also includes working with government departments on custom education offerings.

Sharon’s tribal affiliations are Rongomaiwahine ki Kahungunu from Pakipaki, Hawkes Bay, Aotearoa New Zealand.
