Directory update requestJane Eldridge began her working life as a Registered Nurse and Midwife. Completing a BA LLB during her nursing career, piqued an interest in medical negligence which triggered a professional journey into medical indemnity, working at the Medical Defence Union, United Medical Protection and then Avant, one of Australia’s leading medical indemnity providers. Jane also worked at the Australian Medical Association (NSW) and the Medical Council of NSW before joining Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) in 2017, initially as State Manager, NSW before being appointed National Manager Notifications.
During a five-year career break, Jane owned and operated a business that manufactured and exported sun protective swimwear. While this experience fuelled a love of fabric and design, it also incited a fierce advocacy for education in the prevention of melanoma. Jane’s passion is leadership, and she has a keen interest in exploring the correlation between effective leadership and engagement, performance, and psychological wellbeing in the workplace.
