ANZSOG Associate Dean Lin Hatfield Dodds will take up a new role as the CEO of The Benevolent Society (TBS) in mid-July.

ANZSOG Dean and CEO Professor Ken Smith AO said the appointment was exciting news for both Ms Hatfield Dodds and ANZSOG.

“Lin has been working at ANZSOG based in the Crawford office at ANU in Canberra since February 2019, initially on secondment from the Department of the Prime Minister & Cabinet where she was Deputy Secretary, Social Policy,” Professor Smith said.

“Her contribution to ANZSOG over the last two years, and her work with key stakeholders from the non-government and government sectors has been truly outstanding. Lin has been a close colleague and friend of ANZSOG’s and has made a major contribution to our working relationships with governments, domestically and globally.

“In her work on building the relationship with the non-government sector on leading discussions about how a sister school to ANZSOG for the NFP sector might operate – and then more recently on the ‘Every Child’ project, a partnership between ANZSOG and the NFP sector – Lin’s passion, commitment and professionalism have made important and enduring contributions to civil society in Australia and beyond.

“Her appointment to the CEO’s role of TBS is testament to her capability for vision and transformation. TBS is the oldest charity in Australia having been formed in 1813, and they were in the social policy game long before governments entered this space.

“Their focus is on supporting children, families, older people, people with disabilities and carers. The principles of social change, entrepreneurship, reconciliation and social impact match Lin’s passions perfectly.

“Whilst Lin’s position will be Sydney-based, I expect her working and strategic relationships with ANZSOG across the network will remain, and hope to be in a position shortly to announce how this important professional relationship will be maintained and strengthened.”
