The Independent Māori Statutory Board commenced in 2010 when Auckland amalgamated its local authorities. The Board promotes issues of significance for Māori in Auckland, (the largest Maori city in the world) that focusses on outcomes where Māori are empowered, enabled, respected and recognised as being critical in the development and leadership of Auckland.
