Dr Paul Fawcett is Deputy Dean (Academic) at ANZSOG, leading the Academic Group consisting of three portfolios: Education, which includes responsibility for ANZSOG’s accredited education programs; Research, which includes ANZSOG’s research model and its research translation activities; as well as Global Engagement and Partnerships, which includes responsibility for ANZSOG’s international activities. He is co-Editor of the Australian Journal of Public Administration, and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Governance at the University of Canberra.

Prior to joining ANZSOG, Paul held various leadership roles at the University of Melbourne, including as Chair / Head of the Department of Political Science and Director of the Master of Public Policy and Management, which is Australia’s largest postgraduate coursework program of its kind. He is a former Director of the ANZSOG Executive Master of Public Administration at the University of Melbourne, co-Convenor of the APSA Policy Studies Group (2016-2019) and has twice convened the Annual Conference of the Australasian Public Policy Network Conference (2014 and 2021). Former roles also include positions in the Department of Government at the University of Sydney and the Institute for Governance and Policy Analysis at the University of Canberra.

Paul holds a PhD in Governance, Master of Arts in Research Methods and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Birmingham.
